Blogging???
Q. I was thinking about starting my own Blog, but I'm a bit confused about how the hosting works. If I have Blog that gets relatively medium to high traffic, then is it wise to get a pay for host provider for my blog? I want to create my own blog, but I don't want to deal with down-times and slow page loads. I was thinking about going with blogger, also - any tips on the best blogging clients? I know html, I've got my hands wet with some css, and I know blogging is a journal like tool that you use to post articles, links, pics, ect. I was just wondering how well the free blogs work if you get high amounts of traffic. Do you need a host???

To determine either a host is good or bad, you need to consider content of your blog which also determine loading time for your blog. Let's us examine the condition of your blog to determine loading time: 1) default/Blogger template + one shoutbox + 7 POSTS at landing page + 100 kbp/s internet speed = 23 seconds to load. 2) custom template (depending on how many pictures you put in) + one shoutbox + various pictures & on sidebar + 7 POSTS at landing page + 100 kbp/s internet speed = 60~70 seconds. this is the real example of my blogging experience. What blogging site can I start a blog and actually get viewers or subscribers?
Q. I am trying to find a good blogging site where I can actually get viewers or readers to view my blog. I have tried blogspot and live journal with no real success. What does it take to get started in blogging with financial compensation?
Q. I consider myself (along with others I know) a decent writer and researcher. I'd like to get started in blogging, but I need financial compensation for the time I spend working my blog spot. A. Hi Jake. There are loads of blogging websites out there, Wordpress and Blogspot probably being the two most popular. I've got blogs on both, so I say this from experience: blogspot.com is MUCH easier to use, has lots of free themes (backgrounds) online that are easy to use, can easily be connected to a "real" website (like if you have your own .net or .com site) and easy to change out the favicon (the little picture to the left of the URL). A. Well, if you know about twitter and want something similar, but with the ability to post longer thoughts and entries, check out Typepad. They offer free accounts. For more general, long form blogging check out blogger.com or wordpress.com . both offer free accounts. I tend to like Wordpress better because it is more customizable with different themes and colors, as well as plugins that offer different features. All three of these allow others to leave comments on your posts. Hope that helps!
